We are of the William Riley Whitten group, through my grandfather Cammillus L. Whitten who died at Bodcaw, Ark in 1920 or 21, and who is buried in Union Cemetary just north of Bodcaw, where several other Whittens are interred. Interesting website! I'm related to the Whittens descended from Mary Jane Crump (she married William Riley Whitten). She was a widow with 6 children when she married Riley. Her husband, Robert May, died of measles during the Civil War at age 29. I'm curious about her birthplace that you have listed as "Piper Co., MI". I can't find a Piper County.
